The new Malaysia office represents a strategic expansion that builds upon Solis Marine's established regional presence in Singapore and reflects the company's commitment to providing dedicated local support and rapid response capabilities across key maritime hubs in Asia.
Located in Johor Bahru, the new office is ideally positioned to serve clients across Malaysia and the wider Southeast Asian maritime sector. The Johor Strait and Port of Tanjung Pelepas represent one of the busiest maritime corridors in the world, with significant vessel traffic and a growing demand for expert marine consultancy services.
Solis Marine welcomes two key appointments to establish and operate the Malaysia office:
Kalaichelvan Ramachandran joins as Senior Marine Surveyor. Kalai is an experienced mariner with over 12 years of specialised experience in marine surveying and P&I Club investigations. He brings particular expertise in casualty management, having served as the designated P&I Club surveyor for two major oil spill incidents in the Johor Strait and Tanjung Pelepas Port area. His technical investigation work focuses on tanker vessel casualties including cargo contamination, off-specification cargo issues, and complex claims involving groundings and contact damages.
Rani Ramasamy joins as Administration and Accounts Executive. Rani will oversee all administrative and financial operations for the Malaysia office, ensuring efficient business operations and providing essential support to the technical team.
