A Strong Foundation in Singapore
Since Solis Marine's establishment in Singapore in2012, the city-state has been central to our growth story. Co-founded by Ros Blazejczyk and Captain John Simpson, the Singapore office was launched alongside our London base to provide independent expert advice on maritime and shipping incidents, salvage and wreck removal operations.
Over the past thirteen years, our Singapore presence has evolved significantly. Captain Ken Ellam joined Solis Marine in 2016, bringing his extensive salvage experience from his previous role managing a salvage contractor in Singapore, and has since been instrumental in developing and expanding our operations in the region.
In 2021, we established our engineering division in Singapore. We brought together naval architects and engineers to work on innovative projects in clean shipping and marine renewables. This expansion positioned Singapore as a dual-capability centre. It houses both our traditional marine consultancy services and our engineering design team.
Contributing to Maritime Excellence
Our Singapore team has been involved in numerous high-profile projects and operations across the region. With members of the Lloyd's panel of SCRs and a diverse team of master mariners, naval architects, marine engineers and structural engineers, we have provided critical support during major salvage operations and have delivered innovative engineering solutions for clients at the forefront of the industry's decarbonisation efforts.
Under the leadership of Ken, our team has grown steadily. We have welcomed talented professionals including naval architects, marine engineers and commercial executives, all contributing to our enhanced capabilities in the region.

The move to The Concourse represents an exciting milestone for Solis Marine. The new premises will accommodate our growing team and provide an enhanced working environment as we continue to deliver world-class technical services to our clients across the region.
With further appointments planned in the coming weeks, we are well-positioned to continue expanding our technical capabilities and service offering throughout South-East Asia and the wider APAC region.
